In this episode, Dr. Ilan Green sits down with Rob Schimony who is a PGA teaching professional from Lansdale, Pennsylvania and he is in his third season as an instructor at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown.
We got to discuss a lot of interesting topics that I think will be really beneficial for our listeners who are golfers, or those who work with golfers.
Rob shared his “ground up” approach to working with golfers, tips for posture, stance, and other pre-swing fundamentals, and we dove into performance aspects such as applications of the kinematic sequence, hip/torso separation and common faults in footwork that lead to breakdowns up the kinetic chain.

Episode #12: Deanna Segrave-Daly, RD
In this episode, Dr. Joanna Holleran sits down with Deanna Segrave-Daly who is a Registered Dietitian, best-selling cookbook author, and co-owner of Teaspoon Communications.
Deanna discusses her background and the path that led her to becoming an education and community-focused dietitian, rather than working in a hospital/medical setting and the things that influenced her to focus on helping people find joy in food and cooking.
They also discuss the Mediterranean Diet, which includes the story behind what brought her to focus on this specific regional cuisine. We often find that most of what we think about Mediterranean cuisine is derived from Italy, Greece, Spain, and southern France, but there is so much more! There are 22 countries that border the Mediterranean Sea and they all have their own unique culture and influence on food based on the ingredients available to them.
Deanna also provides insights into sustainability in the context of food and cooking, which is the emphasis of her newest book “The Sustainable Mediterranean Diet Cookbook”. This includes concepts that help to fulfill your individual needs without compromising the needs of future generations and touches on aspects including reducing food waste, how to economically source your food, and tips that we can use on an individual basis to prevent negative impacts on our environment.
Deanna provides insights into some of her favorite recipes (from more than 1,000 recipes that she’s created!), tips for mixing vegetables into meat-centered meals, and ways to think about sourcing seafood sustainably.

Episode #11: David Dillon, DMD
In this episode, Dr. Ilan Green sits down with Dr. David Dillon who is the 3rd generation dentist and owner of Dillon Family Dentistry in Rosemont, PA.
We discuss a range of topics including the lessons he learned early on from his father and grandfather, the transformative work he does for his patients, his specialty and passion for treating dental-phobic patients and those who have lived “non-linear” lives.
One of the things that we appreciate most about Dr. Dillon’s approach to practice is the effort he puts in to help meet patients where they are, which includes the way he goes about communicating with his patients as well as specific details regarding the environment he creates within his practice.
We also discuss how he came to build a healthy balance between his practice and his life outside of his career to focus both on fulfilling and purposeful efforts.

Episode #10: Rob Rabena MS, CSCS
In this episode Dr. Ilan Green sits down with coach Rob Rabena to discuss his experience working with baseball players in the realm of sports performance training.
Rob shares a wealth of information on various topics including how he approaches evaluations/assessments for the athletes he works with, the biggest red flags to look for in physical assessment of the shoulder complex, and how to understand shoulder mechanics and function in context of the sport of baseball.
Rob also shares some helpful insights with regards to the commitments and sacrifices that need to be made by players looking to pursue a future playing at higher levels of competition including navigating the challenge of being a multi-sport athlete.
Additionally, Rob helps paint a clear picture of why exercise selection is so crucial when working with baseball players. He provides context for the types of exercises that help to contribute to helpful movement patterns and exercises that may deliver diminishing or even harmful returns for a baseball player.
